Try this setup ⤵️
3 lights are all you need! (One is enough, but let’s spice things up a little) 1. Key light: Your main light source. Get it close and set your WB for it. ☀️ 2. Rim light: To separate yourself from the background. 💡 3. Background light: It separates you from the background even more, adding color and/or texture to make it more interesting. 🔦

I’ve never done a fundraiser before, but this is an extreme situation, so I’m giving the power of the internet a go.
With ~450K of you across platforms, even $1 from a fraction of you would change everything.
Links to GoFundMe and Ko-fi are in bio 💖
Or comment “KATE” and I’ll send them to you directly.
My sister lives in the US and is helping me with GoFundMe since it’s not available in Vietnam or Japan.
If you can’t donate, sharing this helps more than you think. ❤️🔥
We can do it.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Nothing too fancy 😎⤵️

I’ve been using the diffusion cloth a lot lately and it is AWESOME. 1. It gives you super soft light (if you need it harder — just remove a layer) 2. It takes up no space 3. It’s super duper affordable
Say you just have a light like the RC 60C from @smallrig.global , you don’t really need a softbox. Add an RM 40C from and you’ve got everything for simple unboxing, talking head, cooking, etc. setups.
And this beauty of a flashlight is the new RF 05B from @smallrig.global
Lots of modifiers, gobos, and gels included. I’ll try to create something using just 3 of these soon — stay tuned 😁
Bye!😘
but why? ⤵️ 1. Why is there a mirror? 2. Why is there a mouse pad on the wall?
Because my curtains aren’t wide enough, and there were white walls in the frame — I didn’t like it. So I added a mirror on one side and a mouse pad on the other. K? 3. Why is there a small light next to the camera?!
Two reasons.
First, to fill the shadows a bit — I wanted my face to be nice and bright.
Second, to add an extra catchlight in the eyes. It’s subtle, but it’s there — I like it.
If there are any questions — ask! ❤️🔥
I used:
@amarancreators Ray 60c for the background
Ray 120c for the hair light
Ray 360c for the key light
Ace 25c for the fill / catchlights 👌
Hot (not really) take ⤵️ 1. Having something blurry in your background makes your shots look better 2. A hair light makes your shots look better 3. Cool glasses that you borrow from your wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend make you look better
Agree?
Breakdown ⤵️
I hung a blackout curtain next to me as negative fill (fancy shmancy) to block the light bouncing off my white walls and make the shadow side of my face darker.
Then I clipped a roll of white paper to my curtains, pointed my Ray 660c from @amarancreators at it, and added double diffusion behind it to get that super soft key light.
I wanted some sort of a practical light behind me, but I don’t have any lamps 🤷♂️ so I used the Ray 60c at 1% power😅
What I’d add is some kind of texture in the background, but I didn’t come up with anything 🫠
I like it anyway.
Save for later 😅⤵️
5-light fake podcast room setup (bright walls edition)
KEY LIGHT (grid)
BACKGROUND LIGHT (RGB)
HAIR LIGHT
RIM / MIC LIGHT
EYE CATCHLIGHT LIGHT 😂
First things first — move as far away from the wall as possible so your key light (or any other light) doesn’t hit the background.
Then make your room as dark as possible(curtains/ blinds etc). Otherwise the background will be a mess.
I like to start with the key light (main light for your face and body). In this setup, I needed zero spill, so I added a grid to my amaran F22x and placed it in front of me at a slight angle, away from the wall. Fine-tune the position so the wall stays dark.
STEP 2 — background light
I used this desaturated dark teal color because I saw it the other day and LOVED it! Very low power. I used the Litemons LA300R with a projector mount.
STEP 3 — hair light
Totally optional. I just like how it looks. A SmallRig flashlight is perfect for that.
STEP 4 — rim / mic light
Again, optional. I kept it for the extra highlights on the mic stand. Looks cool. Godox MS60R at 2% (definitely overkill — any light would do).
STEP 5 — eye catchlight light
This one makes your eyes look awesome! 🤩
I used the RN40C + grid + diffusion from SmallRig.
Play around with the position while monitoring the image to find the perfect spot where the catchlights are bright and big enough. I also flagged it on the wall side so it wouldn’t spill.
Done!
Bye 😘

If you don’t have fancy lights or cameras (yet), don’t have time (it happens), or just want to see what an iPhone video of yourself dancing from 5 years ago could look like, you can use a combination of a few models on @invideo.io
💃
I’ve been a fan of halos lately 😇⤵️
That bright highlight around your hair / hat — it gives photos and videos that extra 😘👌✨
Here’s how to get it: 1. Set up the rest of your lights 2. Mount a hard light source above and behind you 3. Make sure it’s not hitting your lens (unless you want flares / highlights. It’s not the pretty kind tho) 4. Adjust it so the light touches your head and shoulders 5. I wouldn’t make it too powerful
One more thing — keep in mind that if you’re wearing something bright, the light will bounce off your back and make the background brighter. Same goes for very colorful shirts.
I used:
Amaran F22x — key light
Amaran Ray 330c — BG light
Godox MS60R — back light (halo)
Litemons LA300R — rim light
Bye now 😘🥕

Yeah, lots of people don’t really like AI models
Whateveeer 🙄😅
I use them. I like them. I think they’re fun.
They help me a ton — concepts, mock-ups, storyboards, LOTS OF STUFF. Most of all, they’re a time saving tool.
Nano Banana 2 is f**king amazing. It’s not perfect, but it’s very good. Go give it a shot — and use the time you save to film a video, or play Nintendo, or not 😁😘
Bye ❤️🔥
