보통의 이지체어에서 느껴지는 편안함은 조금 덜하지만
앉아서 차를 마시거나 책을 읽기에 불편함이 없다.
Easy chair
While it may lack the plush comfort of a typical easy chair, it is perfectly fine for sitting down to enjoy a cup of tea or read a book.

하늘을 올려다 보는것을 좋아한다.
지인의 전시를 보러 갈 겸
오래간만에 서울 북촌길을 걷는다.
오래되어 보이는 이 건물이
예전에는 그냥 무슨 관공서 같은 느낌 이였는데
지금보니 너무나 미니멀하고
작은 창들 소소한 입체감과 나열된 패턴이
조형적으로 보이기 까지 한다.
‘르꼬르뷔제’의 그 것이 이러했을까..
다들 이렇게 환원되고 순환하는 것일까..
하늘이 함께해서 좋았다 ~ㅎ
I have always loved gazing up at the sky.
For the first time in a long while, I am walking along the streets of Bukchon, Seoul, on my way to a friend‘s exhibition.
This aged building... once, it felt like nothing more than a rigid public office. Yet, looking at it now, it reveals a profound minimalism. The small windows, the subtle sense of depth, the quiet rhythm of its patterns—they emerge as something almost sculptural.
Is this the essence of Le Corbusier? Perhaps everything, in the end, is reduced to its purest form and gently cycles back.
It was a beautiful moment, simply having the sky there to keep me company.

장 작업
잘 마른 느릅나무 판재와
오동 나무 표면을 불로 지져 부드러운 부분을 긁어내고
단단한 나무결만 남긴 판재로 작업되었습니다.
장을 만들때는 울거미(뼈대)로 제작하는 방법도 있지만
이렇게 넓은 판재를 이용해 만들기도 합니다.
이 장의 조선시대 머릿장의 양식을 기반으로 제작하였지만
크기나 비율등 전반적인 부분을 새롭게 디자인하여 작업하였습니다.
조선의 머릿장은 ‘안방’에 사용되던 가구로
여성들이 사용하던 가구의 느낌이 들어나게
크기는 조금 작고 장식이 많은 모양새가 보통을 이루지만, 이번 작업을 통해 현대의 공간에서도 조화로울 수 있는 모습으로 디자인 되었습니다.
Artwork Description: Wooden Chest
This piece is crafted from well-seasoned elm and paulownia wood. The paulownia boards underwent a traditional scorching process where the surface is burned and the softer fibers are meticulously brushed away, leaving only the dense and resilient wood grain.
While traditional chests are often constructed using a skeletal frame, this work was distinctively built using wide, solid wooden boards. Although it is deeply rooted in the style of the Joseon Dynasty‘s Meoritjang (bedside chest), the overall design—including its scale and proportions—has been entirely reimagined.
Historically, the Joseon Meoritjang was placed in the Anbang (the women’s inner quarters). Thus, it was typically smaller in size and heavily ornamented to reflect a feminine aesthetic. However, through this project, the traditional form has been carefully redesigned to harmonize seamlessly with modern, contemporary spaces.

지금도..
나는 데니쉬코드 위빙이 서툴지만
보기좋은 의자가 만들어져서 보는내내 기분 좋았다~

A stool crafted with a turned frame made from ammonia-fumed oak, paired with a Danish cord woven seat.
Since the workshop owner (me) isn't great at weaving, the student actually went to study weaving at another workshop to finish this chair. Haha.
Even now..
I'm still pretty clumsy at Danish cord weaving myself, but it turned out to be such a beautiful chair. Just looking at it made me feel great~

arkjournal 기획한 전시에 참가하고 있습니다.
덴마크 유서 깊은 브랜드 로얄코펜하겐
평소 그릇에 별로 관심이 없어 로얄코펜하겐이란 브랜드를 모르고 있었는데,
전시에서 만나본 그릇 들이 너무나 아름다웠습니다.
특히나 이번전시 주제인 TAILOKED HERITAGE는
우아함과 정갈함의 극치를 느끼기에 부족함이 없었습니다.
오프닝에 주한 덴마크 대사가 직접 와서 축하인사 까지
하시기에 사뭇 놀랐는데..
멋진 이번 전시에 함께하게 되어 큰 영광입니다.
