Explore the hidden colours of the natural world using UV torches to reveal the surprising biofluorescence of plants, fungi and other living things that are invisible in ordinary light.

You'll roll up your sleeves and make fresh pasta from scratch together - no machine needed. You’ll weigh, mix and knead your own dough, then head out into our kitchen garden to pick fresh tomatoes and herbs to make a vibrant, child-friendly pesto.
Bore Place's very own chef will guide you through the process and show you how to cook your pasta perfectly at home. You’ll even get to taste your creations on the day, and take everything home along with recipe cards so you can recreate it again and again.

Spot the veg (and wait to the end to spot Metske)! 👀
Metske, the grower, has been BUSY in the Organic Market Garden polytunnels - all these tiny green shoots are promise of the veg bounty to come!
There are French climbing beans, garlic, cucumbers, sweetcorn, lettuces, lots of herbs, tomatoes, beetroot, kohlrabi, a whole family of squashes, and broad beans....and I've probably forgotten something too! 🥒🍅🌽
Right now they're just seedlings, but as the weather warms up, these little ones will transform into this year's beautiful veg harvest. 🌧 Please do a rain dance - the plants need some water!
📦 Organic veg boxes (they're bags!) will be available later this year - we'll be announcing sign-ups on here, so watch this space!

Volunteers at Bough Beech got hands-on with a new skill last week - scything! 🌿
Regular volunteers Bill and Petra ran a workshop to show the team how to use a scythe: a quieter, fossil fuel-free and more ecologically sensitive way to cut grass. It's slower than powered alternatives, which gives wildlife time to move out of the way and leaves a more natural range of vegetation heights across the habitat.
The verdict is it's a lot harder than it looks! 😄

🦆 What a day at Bough Beech! Over the Easter break, our Additional Needs Club had a lovely walk over to neighbouring Bough Beech nature reserve where they did pond dipping, reptile hunting, watched buzzards soar overhead and spotted nesting geese.
