Time to educate you for why I am dressed as a Red Devil!
Masquerade in Saint Lucia is more than costume it is movement, spirit, and memory brought to life.
Born out of the post-emancipation era, masquerade became a powerful way for people to reclaim the streets through rhythm, disguise, and performance. The characters tell the story: Red Devils, Black Devils, White Devils covered in colour, oil, and powder teasing, dancing, and commanding attention. They are playful, but also powerful, echoing deeper spiritual and cultural roots.
Alongside them come the Pygmies, the towering Moko Jumbies, and the bands that move as one, driven by drums, whistles, and chant. Every step, every gesture, is storytelling without words.
Masquerade is freedom you can see and hear. It is history in motion alive, bold, and unapologetic.

Watching this video makes me realize how much I talk 😂 And because the video couldn’t carry on until the end, people didn’t get to see the full story about what I was saying regarding ChatGPT while I was working on the book.
Honestly, there were moments I used to get so frustrated because I would say something and ChatGPT would completely misunderstand me 🤣 I was talking to my phone like it was a real person, even swearing at it sometimes, and then suddenly I would stop and think… “Oh my gosh, am I really here arguing with a phone right now?” 😂
But at the same time, this whole process helped me so much emotionally and mentally. Writing this book made me go back in time and relive so many moments of my life — the good memories, the painful ones, the struggles, the laughter, everything. It felt like I was living those moments all over again.
This book is all about my path, my journey, and everything that had to happen to make me who I am today. I don’t know what the future brings, but I feel very grateful and proud to have this book out in the world.
My goal has always been simple — to inspire people somehow, to bring positivity, and maybe put a smile on someone’s face ❤️
