Alternative Life Drawing is starting up at Kings Heath Community Centre in association with The Book Tower ✨
The first session takes place on Friday 22nd May, 7–9pm, with @zero_the_bee_2.0 modelling! An incredible cosplayer, zero will be posing for a mix of short poses at first working up to some longer poses.
These sessions follow the structure of traditional life drawing, but work with costumed and character-based models instead. A relaxed evening focused on observation, drawing, and spending a couple of hours making art with other people.

I’ll have a table of materials available, but I do recommend bringing your own favourites that you enjoy working with!
Our fabulous new shelving in the back from @tc.handyman.birmingham has made space for so many more books!!

@booktowerkh has joined our TASTE exhibition by decorating their window with all things food. Books, cards, tea towels…. (Especially precious for us, as we don’t really have public facing shop windows to dress!)
@coatedpottery - we’ve teamed up with Dan to deliver a plate/bowl painting workshop this Thursday. What better way to enjoy food than eating from something you’ve painted yourself? Right?!

Jane and daughter Maisie founded The Book Tower in 2023. A secondhand bookshop with the aim of keeping reading sustainable, accessible and affordable.
Jane knowing all things literary and Maisie being a Del Boy style schemer, they make quite the team.
