This is your reminder that the world is not as bad as it feels. 🌍📊
I just finished Factfulness, and it honestly felt like a reset in how I see things. I went into it with a certain level of confidence in how I understood the world. I took the quiz before reading.
You can try it out here 👇
I answered instinctively, thinking I had a pretty good sense of things. But as I kept going, I realized there’s a difference between what feels right and what’s actually accurate.
For me, it became really about the question of “consumption”: what we choose to read, watch, and believe, and how that slowly shapes our worldview over time. It made me reflect on my own media diet and how easily we absorb narratives without questioning them.
As a psychology major, I’m not new to data or numbers but this is one of the few books that presents them in a way that actually feels approachable. It doesn’t overwhelm you, it guides you. And what makes it even more powerful is knowing that the references behind it, through @gapminder_org , come from the most credible global data sources. It’s not just numbers for the sake of numbers; it’s carefully interpreted information that helps you see reality more clearly. And I think that’s what makes Hans Rosling’s writing so impactful, he has this way of explaining things that feels like you’re just having a conversation across the table.
What I took from it:
• having a general outlook isn’t the same as being accurate
• what you consume daily shapes how you see the world
• we’re naturally wired to lean toward the dramatic—awareness matters
• understanding > reacting
• clarity comes from questioning, not just assuming
This is one of those books I would recommend instantly. If you want to think more clearly, feel less overwhelmed, and understand the world better. this is definitely worth reading.

I finished Fahrenheit 451 while sitting at a bazaar, selling Bookmarkita. I was literally advocating for something that represents reading, and it so happened that I had this strange feeling of déjà vu the whole time.
Bradbury published this in 1953, but reading it right now in 2026 felt like looking at a mirror. People would pass by, some would appreciate the idea, some would smile and say they know someone who reads m, and some would casually share that they’re not really “readers” or that they don’t read books much. And it wasn’t said negatively, just… honestly. It felt more like a glimpse into how people relate to reading now.
That’s what made it hit. The book isn’t just about banning books, it’s about a world where people slowly stop choosing them. And being there, in that setting, it felt like I was seeing a softer version of that reality. Not forced, just gradually replaced. By faster things, easier things, more stimulating things.
It made me reflect on how reading today almost requires intention. Like you have to choose it, protect it even, in the middle of everything else competing for your attention. And that’s what made this book feel less like fiction and more like a quiet reminder.
My personal takeaways:
• Thinking deeply is a habit. You can lose it if you don’t practice it
• Not everything replacing reading is bad, but it does change how we think
• Reading is not just a hobby, it’s a way of staying mentally alive

This is your sign to read Project Hail Mary. 🚀📖 @projecthailmary@andyweirofficial
This has to be the best sci-fi story I’ve read (and listened to) in a while. I’m really glad I got into it before watching the film. It drew me in so easily. funny, emotional, and unexpectedly heartfelt. I was completely hooked the whole time 🥹
I experienced this story in every format Kindle, audiobook, and finally the physical copy and it honestly felt full circle. But the audiobook stood out the most for me. There was something about listening to it during car rides with my fiancé just letting it play, pausing when something caught our attention, talking it through that made the story feel more immersive, like we were part of it in a small way.
There’s honestly so much to love about this story including the fact that the main character is named Grace (not gonna lie, that made it a little more personal for me 😌). And then there’s that unexpected connection you don’t see coming, it adds so much heart.
There’s something about the way this story is written that makes even complex ideas feel easy to follow. You’re learning, but it never feels heavy. it feels like you’re figuring things out alongside with the main character… and eventually seeing that same perspective come to life through Ryan gosling in the film.
What I took from it:
• Problems feel less overwhelming when you break them down logically
• Intelligence can be entertaining, not intimidating
• The right person for something extraordinary can come from the most ordinary place
• Connection can exist even in the most unexpected forms
• Sometimes, doing the right thing is a choice you make step by step
• And apparently… I might be slightly xenophilic now, but in a very intellectual, science-respecting way 😌
The movie was good I can see the effort in bringing everything together but the depth of the story just lives better in the book. Still, it was nice finally seeing everything come to life after imagining it for so long. Hihi

Today’s read: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
As I build Bookmarkita, I realized the heart of this brand will always be the books themselves: the ideas we carry with us, the stories that shape how we think, and the quiet habit of reading.
A classic that feels fitting as the first book I share here with Bookmarkita. Stay tuned for more from the shelf.
