These are the boots of a “paid protestor.”
The “funding” we have is our neighbors donating.
The supplies came from our own closets, garages, and attics.
We’re “well organized” because we talk to our neighbors. We talk to our friends. We go outside and we see people doing good work and we are inspired to contribute and participate.
We’re digging deep and showing up.
And some of us are doing it in boots held together by yarn.
Being an at-home printmaker comes with unique challenges. Like having to chase down your cat before she tracks green ink all over your apartment (don’t worry, she’s squeaky-clean and no longer green).

I decorated this postcard with a couple of little details from my own home or childhood home, like a little jingling Santa Claus toy or my the lamp I inherited from my grandparents. And I guess you could say the toppled tree itself is based in reality 🎄🌲🎄 Sprinkle a couple fresh sage leaves over top for a great wintry-scented garnish and you’ve got a print.
