Our fabric octagons have been getting lots of love recently! This one just got shipped out to a client upstate. A simple, distinct geometric shape takes on a softer quality as we gently bend a linen shade around our handmade frames. 🐙

Designed this kitchen to balance warmth and function, with a focus on natural materials and refined details. @hampton_design brought it to life with their custom millwork. We are very excited to see a trio of our Horizon pendants in the Luxe magazine May/June issue! Huge thanks to @peruridesigncompany for bringing our work into such thoughtful interiors. The contrast between the natural and black-dyed sections picks up on everything else happening in the room—the painting, window trim, furniture color choices, all of it. We are fans! @luxemagazine Photography: R. Brad Knipstein

This is what our dream summer weekend looks like ☀️ Our Capped Dome pendant made it all the way to paradise! So fun to see it shining in this gorgeous Turks & Caicos villa by @deborahwalker.interiors This one’s a 6-foot stunner—hand-wrapped with hours (and hours!) of care, using string we dyed in-house in our custom Rose Dawn shade. Also… you can actually stay in this villa. 👀 Book it at bristolbreezevilla.com and please take us with you. 🧳🏝️ 📷: Deborah Walker & Associates

We’ve been making more of these Tapered String Doughnut pendants lately — a form that looks simple, but takes a careful hand. Each fixture is wrapped across two layers: inner and outer rings that allow us to taper the shape while keeping both sides fully covered. The lightbulbs are installed in between, suspended within the ring. It’s a methodical process, done entirely by hand in our Brooklyn studio — and one that rewards patience, precision, and a love of detail. #bonesimpledesign #handmadelighting #madeinNYC

We were honored to see our Cumulus Pendant with double sheer outer shade featured on the cover of Aspire magazine☁️ 🤍 We usually make the Cumulus in white, but this custom version features a muted chartreuse inner shade for a perfect moody glow. Each fixture is handcrafted in our Brooklyn studio — uniquely made, every time. #bonesimpledesign #handcraftedlighting #madeinNYC #madeintheusa

🪐There is definitely something celestial about the way our Saturn Pendants are suspended. The composition is deliberate, a study in balance and negative space, as light settles softly into the room around it. Pictured are all three versions of the Saturn (single pendant, the Double Saturn, and the Saturn Trio) in some of our favorite color combos: light blue and polished nickel, black rope and satin brass, gray-green and pewter. (and then some shots of a Saturn Trio we are working on now in our production studio) #bespokelighting #handmadeinNYC #lightingdesign #bonesimpledesign

Happy Easter from Bone Simple! At Bone Simple, we believe in making space for play. One afternoon, just for fun, our studio manager flipped a couple of leftover glass drop pendants upside down and knitted some charming crochet coverings. As creatives, we know that play isn’t just joyful—it’s essential. It softens our inner critic and makes room for unexpected ideas to surface. You never know what might bloom! 🌸🐣🌷 #lightingdesign #bespokelighting #handmadeinNYC

Our Glass Saucer Cluster is a Bone Simple team favorite. These hand-blown saucers seem to effortlessly hover in a room, but behind their quiet elegance is an intense craftsmanship—fire, breath, and a steady hand guiding each piece into being. These gently curved discs are made up to almost two feet in diameter from a single piece of glass, only possible by many years of glassblowing experience. As with all of our pieces, the size and configuration of these glass fixtures are customizable. You can find size ranges and examples on our website, but we'd be happy to make something custom for you -- email us any time for inquiries. #handcraftedlightfixtures #sculptedbyfire #bonesimpledesign #madeinNYC

Featured in @luxemagazine and @cottagesgardens magazines 🤩 our Modern Cylinder Pedants have stretched out into statement pieces, brought to life by interior designer @lucyharrisnyc . Two of the primary ways that we iterate and customize our designs are size and color. Just by pulling on these two levers, it’s cool to see the range that the designs can take on. We love working with designers and seeing what they dream up for their spaces. We'd love to work with you - message us or email us for pricing and details! 📷 @hulyakolabasphotography #BoneSimpleDesign #ContemporaryLighting #HandcraftedLighting

For as long as humans have been making things, we’ve been twisting, braiding, and weaving fibers—turning natural materials into functional, beautiful objects. Ancient Egyptians spun linen for sails and tapestries. Indigenous artisans wove intricate baskets from reeds and grasses. Sailors knotted rope into hammocks and rigging, not just for utility but for the artistry of the craft. And by the 20th century, fiber art had stepped into the realm of modern design, from the corded chairs of mid-century masters to the woven wall hangings of the 1970s. Our Modern Cylinder Pendants carry that thread (😉) into contemporary lighting—wrapping simple, structured forms in layers of finely wound string. The result? A fixture that feels both soft and architectural, both nostalgic and fresh. Perfect for adding warmth, color, and a little bit of history to a space. #BoneSimpleDesign #ContemporaryLighting #FiberInDesign #HandmadeLighting #TexturalDesign #LightingMatters
