We’re excited to announce that Todd Saliman, president of the University of Colorado, will serve as the Official Starter for the 2026 BOLDERBoulder 10K on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25! 🏁
As Official Starter, Saliman will welcome participants to the start line and fire the starter’s pistol 96 times, sending each wave on its way following the ceremonial playing of the Call to the Post.
Since 1981, the partnership between the BOLDERBoulder and the University of Colorado has helped create one of the most iconic finishes in running - inside Folsom Field beneath the Flatirons. Over 1.5 million finishers have experienced that unforgettable moment.
With more than 50,000 runners and walkers expected this year, we can’t wait to celebrate another Memorial Day tradition with the CU community. 💛🖤

The BOLDERBoulder 10K will not be able to offer race weekend or race day registration for the 2026 event.
Historically, we have provided participants with the opportunity to register during race weekend and on race morning. With participation trending significantly higher this year and the event nearing operational capacity, we encourage anyone planning to participate to register as soon as possible.

In partnership with the University of Colorado Boulder, the BOLDERBoulder 10K is eliminating plastic water bottles at the finish line as part of a new sustainability initiative.
Beginning this Memorial Day, every finisher inside Folsom Field will receive water in a commemorative recyclable aluminum cup presented by Nike, with multiple refill stations located outside the stadium to keep participants hydrated while reducing waste.
The move builds on CU Boulder’s longstanding commitment to sustainability, including Ralphie’s Green Stampede, which helped make Folsom Field the nation’s first zero-waste football stadium.
As the largest 10K in the world and the third-largest race in the United States, the BOLDERBoulder welcomes more than 50,000 participants each Memorial Day, all finishing inside iconic Folsom Field in front of 40,000 cheering fans.
