about a decade ago i was told i would never sing again. i scarred and severely damaged my vocal cords while opening for maroon 5 in Sydney, Australia. my cords were streets with cracks and potholes that went on for thousands of miles. i was done. on top of that.. my band @thecab wasn’t getting along. it felt like the dream of playing music and being onstage with my best friends was over. who was i without my voice? the band was formed when i was 14 years old. it was the only job that i had ever had. singing was the only thing that i loved and was half decent at. these guys meant the world to me. we know how to create magic and how to catch lightning in a bottle. my world was shattered.
twelve years later Chasing Crowns is finally out. and guess what? we put ourselves back together. i re-learned how to sing. i cried. i was lost. but i battled. I fought for the fans. i fought so i could figure out what i was truly made of. the fact that i am back playing with this band besides my best friends that i met and started this with in high school is surreal. to be able to sing again.. to be able to be onstage again.. to be able to hug the fans again.. to be able to sing songs with them again.. it’s all a miracle.
it all became real today. we are really back. i am really singing again. i got my voice back. my heart is beating again. i won’t take a single song or show for granted ever again because you never know when it will be your last. i hope you all are enjoying “Chasing Crowns” by @thecab . thank you for singing again with me. i adore you all. this isn’t just an album.. it was my lifeline.

Looking back on the last 5,358 days is pretty surreal. That was the last time we released a full-length record. In that time we have reached mountaintops.. we have touched the sky.. but we have also gotten stuck in the mud and the deepest of trenches. The soles of our shoes have felt flames. And our shoulders have touched clouds. We have flown, we have fallen—but most importantly… we somehow made it here. To this. This exact moment and creation.
Chasing Crowns is finally yours.
We created this with our best friends. With each other. Tireless hours. Bliss. Self-doubt. Every human emotion all at the same time. Thank you to every single person who contributed to this record and thank you to ALL OF YOU for listening to it and believing in us.
