sitting on the shinkansen back to Tokyo gathering my thoughts. Most of all, I’m so happy there’s an audience for orchestral game music and that I get to be a part of it. I feel so well treated with more beautiful pianos than I’ve ever played in my life just in the dressing rooms. It was a little surreal dusting off my japanese textbooks to become the official announcer for each concert along with performing piano and singing. We performed 4 concerts this December in Yokohama & Osaka. The days were very full, with about an hour and a half between the end of the matinee to the beginning of the evening show. My heart was beating each time I was beckoned onto the stage and, staring into the lights, I mostly focused on trying to breathe “normally”. The best feeling was sitting watching these antique TV screens which broadcasts the performance while I was offstage just enjoying the music as an audience member. I feel a little strange that I only wrote a small portion of the music in OMORI and yet I take on a role of representing the game in some way. That said, I was so happy to bring the small parts I have given and hear an orchestra play my music with me.
it makes me want to perform like this with entirely new music to be honest 😌
thank you so much Kawai-san and everyone at MUSICエンジン, fangamer japan and Nami & Akane for hosting me so kindly while I was here.
tomorrow I go home for Christmas 👋
2 years ago I was here. ✨
I will be returning to Japan this December for 4 more concerts in Osaka and Yokohama to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of OMORI performing with the orchestra MUSICエンジン 🎻
07/12 YOKOHAMA
17/12 OSAKA

Jess and I made ‘To Know Her’ in a session which nearly didn’t happen. After messing around with the songs we were supposed to make, this one emerged quietly and resolutely. ‘To Know Her’ is the closing track on Jessica Winter’s ‘My First Album’ which was released today! I’m so happy the song is out and congrats Jess on the album. Please everyone listen 🤍
🤠 Roses in The Concrete is out now! I wrote and produced this track with @lukeblackmusic . It’s a beautiful ode to the student protests in Serbia and a love song to everybody daring to live and emerge as themselves 🌱 I’m so proud of what we’ve put together. The premise of a guitar-led folk epic was so far from both of our typical genres but it was about time to alienate both of our audiences in the name of love. I hope you all enjoy and thank you so much Luke for letting me put oboe all over the song 😫
