The run leg is where it gets real. Energy depleted, adrenaline gone — it's just you and your inner voice. Will you fold, or dig deep? In 5, 11 or 17km you'll cross that line knowing you didn't give up. 💪 Coming off the bike: Spin easy those last 2.5km — stretch your back, hamstrings and calves. When you dismount, walk easy to your rack with hips open and forward. They'll feel tight. That's normal. The course: Trust the design — a 150m downhill eases you straight into your stride, opening posture and cadence naturally toward the harbour wall. Once you've crossed that flat opening kilometre with its soul-refreshing ocean views, you'll find your mojo. Back up the short hill, then a relatively flat, winding tour of the awe-inspiring cliff path — wooden bridges, distant mountains, the sea beside you like an oil painting. In 2.5km you'll hit the old town square with crowds and music to lift you. Eyes out for kids, dogs and blissfully unaware tourists 😄 On the return, the road flattens and straightens — open the taps. Fuel up at the Biogen station with sports drinks and Fastbars. When you reach the new harbour entrance, turn left — you're into lap 2. On the narrow cliff path, keep left when you hear breathing behind you and give those ahead early warning before passing on the right. On the run itself: The cliff path is twisty with uneven surfaces — aggressive carbon plates may work against you here. Save the power for the flatter return stretch. Deep belly breathing. Hips forward. Eyes up the path ahead. Shoulders back. Strong arms driving. Bib facing front, big smile ready — you've earned it. 🐳🍹👏🏽 Start easy.
