We lost our family dog Murphy yesterday. I’m finding it hard to process - it hasn’t hit me yet but it feels right to recognize his life and all that he brought to ours. He brought us a lot of joy in spite of his irrational fear of thunderstorms. He watched our kids grow up and was there for every family milestone.
The first photo is from the day we got him at a farm in Tupelo. We discussed names on the way home and decided to call him “Murphy” because it sounded Irish and we had a kids’ book called “A Day in the Life of Murphy”. That dog looked almost identical to the 6 week old puppy we were bringing to our house.
The video clip is him in his happy place and how I will remember him. He was just about to turn 15 and his body and mind were finally giving out but he still loved “porch time”. I swear he had esp - I only needed to think about going outside and he would be sitting at the sliding door, patiently waiting for me to open it.
Thank you Murphy for everything.
My oldest - my adventurous and kindhearted daughter - is having a birthday. She makes my world and everyone else’s brighter. Thanks for making me a Dad and I hope you have the best day.
Happy 17th to my Valentine’s girl! Fallon makes everyone’s world better and brighter just by being in it. Here’s a photo dump from this year plus a few classics. She loves ice cream. Love you @fallon_marie36
