It all started when comedian Christopher Isaacson walked into a Brooklyn bodega, filmed himself saying “no erection, no perverted thoughts,” grabbed a box of Chips Ahoy, and walked out. A million views later, @bodega_comedy was born.
Now, twice a month, crowds cram into bodegas across the city for stand-up behind the counter, menus with the night’s lineup, and a chopped cheese at intermission. Yes, there’s a trumpet. Yes, there’s a VR camera. No, we still don’t know how they fit 40 people in there.
