We worked on trying to get various angles but the only way was to get out there with him. I was harnessed in and hanging out of the window in front of him shooting backwards traveling around 180 mph. My camera was secured with rope to my wrist. The wind was coming around my head so fast and bouncing back off the viewfinder hitting my eye and causing my eyelid to flap and throw alligator size tears back into the view hole. I could barely see what I was shooting. Like opening your eyes under water. It was cold and my hands were freezing. But it was all worth it, we accomplished what we were after! Excited to be here in the Big Apple for the NY premier of #MissionImpossible tonight. Had to keep all this under wraps for a long time. Yes- Tom Cruise really hung off the side of a plane while it took off and landed! Go see the movie, it's awesome! #madrespect 📷 #bobridges

Good news / Bad News / Great News ; i put the drone up today and flew all around Hermosa to Manhattan Beach and couldn’t find a single shark. I found SIX baby Great Whites on Sunday up in Santa Barbara swimming around with the dolphins close to the shore break. Guessing they already ate what little we had to offer here including the stingrays and headed out 😜. Great white juvenile sharks swimming around the Manhattan beach looking for rays and fish. The calm sandy bottoms in the Southbay provide the perfect nurseries so these sharks can actually avoid risk from larger predators.

Ignorance is bliss - they are always out there. I can tell you from my experience that we haven’t seen this many in one place in recent years. I counted 6 in about a mile zone and had 3 in one frame today. Super chill. Just cruising. This great white caught my eye with its distinctive markings. Looked like it was slightly larger than the others and maybe had been bitten a few times on its rear and right fin. It was kind enough to breach the surface for me a few times and i got a couple clips with the dorsel fin protruding. If anyone else is tracking these - lmk. Would be great to identify them. Can call this one White Stripe if it hasn’t already been named…
