A sunny sunday in wanstead looks a lot like this.
Chefs moving, bakers baking, orders flying, regulars staying for one more coffee they didn’t plan on.
Send this to someone who’s never been.
See you soooooon.
From arriving in the UK at 18 with just a backpack and a few pounds… to building one of Wanstead’s most loved cafés.
On this episode of BROCAST, we sit down with Bobo, founder of Bobo & Wild, as he shares the early days of his journey, moving to London to learn English, knocking on café doors looking for work, and landing his very first job pot washing at Wimpy in Ealing Broadway.
A reminder that every big story starts somewhere.

The room softens. The smoke lifts from out back. A spritz hits the table before the menu does. Brunch is over. The fire’s just getting started.

The kind of morning you don’t rush through.
The quiet hum of the kitchen, greens hitting the pan, matcha pancakes finding their stack one layer at a time.
Mornings at Stratford take their time and we’d recommend the same.
Apple frangipane by Diana. She gets in before the rest of us, turns the radio on low, and the bakery starts to smell like something worth queueing for.
Bramleys, almond cream, the kind of thing that disappears off the counter while you’re still deciding what coffee to order.
Pop into Wanstead before lunch. Or don’t, and hear about it from someone who did.
Some people order one coffee and get on with their day.
And then there’s the rest of us.
One cup to wake up.
Two cups to start thinking about what you might do later.
Three cups and you’ve decided — you’re not going anywhere for a bit.

Ever wonder why your BOBO Blend tastes so good?
This bean’s had a longer day than you. Grown somewhere sunny. Shipped to east london. Spun at a few hundred degrees, pulled at exactly the right moment, cooled, rested, bagged. All so you can order a flat white tomorrow without thinking about any of it.
That’s all it is, really. Nothing too clever. Just done properly.
