Last night, Marcia and I participated in the 44th Gourmet Gala for March of Dimes, an organization leading the fight for the health of moms and babies. We’ve attended this event for more than 10 years and always enjoy spending time with other Members of Congress, families, and advocates who care deeply about maternal and infant health.
This year, we shared my Aunt Hilda’s Pecan Pie recipe, which received the Best Presentation Award! It was a fun evening raising awareness and supporting healthier futures for moms and babies.
The Biggest Week in American Birding is taking place in northwest Ohio this week.

Over the weekend, we celebrated the talented high school students who participated in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. It was great to meet with the students and see their artwork on display. Congratulations to this year’s winner, Sarah Mathey, for her piece titled “Hometown.” Her artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
Stopped by Ball Corporation, a beverage can plant in Findlay. The company provides innovative, sustainable aluminum cans for the food and beverage industry. It was insightful to see behind the scenes at a company focused on American manufacturing.
@growinghopeglobally has an international mission that has specialists working directly with third world farmers to improve their agricultural practices. The charity has its roots with a small group of Williams County farmers working around a kitchen table wanting to make a difference in helping farmers around the world. The Burger Bash was held this weekend to raise funds to help on its mission.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of celebrating Adam, Jack, Michele, and Eli, students from #OH5 who have been accepted into U.S. Military Service Academies. I am grateful for each of these students and their commitment to serving our great nation, and I am confident they will thrive at their respective academies. It was an honor to nominate them to our nation’s service academies.
