It started like any other call… quiet, uncertain, almost normal.But some conversations don’t stay normal for long.
She spoke like someone who had already made peace with something I was still trying to hold onto. Every word felt distant… like she had left long before she actually said goodbye.
She said she tried.She said she stayed.But somewhere in between all of that… something was missing.
And the hardest part wasn’t hearing that she was leaving.It was realizing she had been gone for a while.
There’s a kind of silence that follows words like that…not empty, just heavy. Like everything you thought was real slowly slipping through your hands.
No shouting.No dramatic ending.Just honesty… arriving too late.
