Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. I was blessed with one of the very best, and not a day goes by that I don’t think about her and miss her. After my mom passed away in 2020, I found a journal where she had written little notes about me over the years. The very first entry was the date my mom and dad brought me home after the adoption process was complete. Reading those words reminded me all over again just how loved I was from the very beginning. I’m thankful beyond words that my birth mother gave me life, and I’m forever grateful for the home and family I was placed into. Both my mom’s side and my dad’s side of the family loved me so much. #mothersday #mothers #blessed

Have any of you seen the new film Michael? I never got the chance to meet Michael Jackson, but I came close once. Back when I was on the CMT series The Singing Bee, we were rehearsing at Center Staging in Burbank and Michael was in the building right next door rehearsing. Just a few weeks later, he passed away. I did meet his dad, Joe Jackson, at the Temecula Film Festival when I was there presenting Steve Dorff with an award. Joe had his own magician with him. And if that’s not unusual enough, the magician was carrying a monkey. I snapped a photo of Steve and Joe just to make sure I’d never forget that moment. Too bad the magician and monkey aren’t in the shot. 😄 #michaeljackson #magicians #monkey #california

How many of you remember the little girl in It’s a Wonderful Life who tells Jimmy Stewart, “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings”? Her name is Karolyn Grimes and at 85 years young, she was a special guest at the Missouri Cherry Blossom Festival this past weekend. She was signing books just a couple of tables down from me, and I had the chance to visit with her. She couldn’t have been kinder. I truly enjoyed our conversation. #christmas #itsawonderfullife #jimmystewart #karolyngrimes #hollywood

Reba, Roger Miller, Tom T. Hall, The Statlers, Johnny Rodriguez, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Bare, Mac Davis, Moe Bandy, & Mel McDaniel are just a few of the artists produced by Jerry Kennedy. Jerry played the legendary intro on Jeannie C Riley’s “Harper Valley P. T. A.” as well as the intro on “Oh Pretty Woman” and “Stand By Your Man”. The memorial for Jerry was held last night at Ray Stevens’ CabaRay. It was like a reunion of hundreds of friends gathering to remember a very kind and humble man who contributed so much to this business. Reba, Garth Brooks, and Jerry’s sons spoke and a special group of musicians performed “Oh Pretty Woman”. Jerry’s son, Shelby has been a friend to me through the years and I was blessed to visit with Jerry several times when his office was close by to Merle Kilgore.#nashville #legend #countrymusic
