Feeling a bit nostalgic. I’ll always associate David Berman’s music with a window of time that marked my last days living in Murfreesboro, TN and my first days living in NYC. Bright Flight was on heavy rotation then and the album was like a soundtrack for all of the new trials and triumphs I experienced navigating the world on my own as an adult. His loss is terribly sad but it’s been pretty cool to read everyone’s stories about how significant his work was to them. For such a low key star his orbit of influence was huge.
