What a fantastic kick off to Safe Boating Awareness Week here in Deep Cove! Many kids (and parents) were educated and entertained on our boats. Overheard from one boy: “What is in this hatch? And in this one? And this one?” No hatch left undiscovered.
On shore we had a tent with our spinny wheel and six lucky kids got a fresh PFD for their summer adventures.
Huge thanks to the organizer the @portvancouver
It was so great to have all our marine friends together again to show what we do to support our incredible community.
To all, have a fantastic summer and wear your PFD! 🛟

Tip 2: Take a Boating Course
A boating course is a great way to build confidence and improve your skills on the water. Whether you’re new to boating or have years of experience, there’s always something new to learn.
The more prepared you are, the safer and more enjoyable your time on the water will be. 📚🚤
Safe Boating Awareness Week is recognized by boating communities across Canada and around the world.
Tip 1: Wear Your Lifejacket
Over 80% of Canadians who drown while boating were not wearing their lifejacket properly or not wearing one at all. The good news is today’s lifejackets and PFDs are more comfortable and designed for all types of boating activities.
The best lifejacket is the one you wear every time you head out on the water. 🦺
Summer is almost here, and we’re getting ready for a safe boating season together.
