FOUNDER STORY: Choosing the Perfect Font
@thebeachboys Are by far my favorite musical group. They were BEFORE the Beatles. Blood Brothers and Close Brothers came together to create a timeless sound that will IMMEDIATELY put you in a GREAT mood.
Brian Wilson wrote a song, God Only Knows, to be claimed “The most beautiful song ever written” by his peers and many others. It was the song my mother and I danced to at Our Wedding.
When I was working on a font for TDB, I became inspired by my most cherished hat that I won off EBay for $109, my Vintage Beach Boys Hat.
I searched up n down, left n right for a font that was close to it but could never find the right style. UNITL…..when @robertaugustsurfco and I were collaborating on a custom Longboard (Still in the works!) last summer, they suggested I reach out to @boardlams for inspiration….well those West Coast Fams helped fulfill this East Coast Brother’s DREAMS!!!

Every once in a while a project comes through the shop that’s more than just a board — it’s a story.
This one started when Scott came to us wanting to make something that would honor his friend. He put together logos from all the places his friend loved to travel. Each one meant something — a memory, a moment, a piece of their adventures — and he turned them into one graphic. Our job was simply to help bring it to life in a way he could actually hold onto.
He also wanted the board shaped after one of his friend’s favorites, a board he rode all the time. Early on he told me how well that board worked for him, and how much it would mean if we could recreate it. So we rebuilt the shape from scratch, paying attention to every little line and curve.
@boardlams crushed the fiberglass print — super clean,every detail popped. @bryanfischersurfboards handled the glassing with his usual dialed-in touch… clean laps, perfect finish, and a sharp black pinline around the whole graphic on the bottom. We added our blue sun on the deck as a small final touch.
When it all came together, it honestly felt less like finishing a board and more like finishing a tribute. And when I sent Scott the final pics, he was completely stoked. A board full of memories, built for a friend who clearly meant a lot to him.

So stoked to reveal… The Green Dragon Board 🤘🐲🤘 I’ve been working on this one for a while now ~ in collaboration with @270boardco and it’s awesome to see it come to life! From the minute I sat down to create the artwork, I knew I wanted it to be on a tow foil board. Capturing one of the most insane moments I’ve had in the ocean - this thing should be a real dragon slayer 😎 featuring full carbon layup, @boardlams printing, and custom laser cut traction.
