A Monster Calls is a tale woven from grief, imagination and courage — and this cast delivered it with a depth far beyond their years. Their performances were raw, truthful and beautifully human, pulling the audience into every heartbeat of Conor’s journey.
It's truly a joy to see the on-stage chemistry wonderfully supported by the off-stage tech wizards from BOA Stage & Screen.
It’s been a privilege for GCG Photography to capture this company over the last couple of years and watch them grow as artists has been a joy.

A great afternoon capturing Year 13 Acting, Cast A as they brought A Monster Calls to life in today’s dress rehearsal.
A raw, beautifully crafted performance filled with honesty, imagination and emotional punch.
Based on Patrick Ness’s acclaimed novel, the play follows Conor, a boy visited each night by a towering Monster who tells him stories — pushing him toward a truth he’s not yet ready to face.
This cast handled its themes of grief, courage and storytelling with remarkable maturity.

Today, Cast B absolutely transformed the Birmingham Old Rep stage with their stunning rendition of Shakespeare in Love.
Sharp, witty banter to the soul-aching artistry of the final scenes, this performance was a masterclass in quality & passion.
There’s something magical about watching a cast breathe new life into the streets of Elizabethan London, reminding us all that "love knows no rank" and great art knows no bounds.

Huge congratulations to the Year 13 Acting Pathway at BOA for their production of Shakespeare In Love!
This story takes us back to the vibrant chaos of Elizabethan London, where a young Will Shakespeare is struggling with writer's block—until he meets his muse, Viola de Lesseps. It’s a beautiful, witty reminder that "love and a bit of a dog" can change everything. 🐕❤️
The talent on display was top class. The electric chemistry of the leads to the flawless timing of the ensemble, every member of the cast brought such heart to the stage.
A massive shoutout to the crew as well; the sound, lighting, costumes and seamless transitions made the magic possible.

An absolute privilege to be back at The Old Rep Theatre Birmingham this week to capture the Year 13 Acting Pathway from BOA Academy in their gripping production of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.
From the clinical, high-stakes tension of Nurse Ratched’s ward to the raw, rebellious energy of McMurphy, these young performers brought incredible depth and maturity to such a complex story. The historic atmosphere and period tunes always adds that extra layer of drama to the show. 📸✨
A massive well done to both casts and the BOA Stage and Screen production team for their tireless work behind the scenes. It is always an honour to document the next generation of talent as they prepare for the industry.

From Broadway workshops (MJ the Musical & Death Becomes Her) to live shows (Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) 🎭), skyline views at Edge Observatory, and exploring the best of New York City.
We also saw the Times Square lights, Fifth Avenue shopping, food at Ellen’s Stardust Diner & Planet Hollywood, plus adventures through Central Park and the American Museum of Natural History!
We have had the best time… sad to be on our way home now ✈️
