Thank you so much to @maliamaunakea for sending us signed bookplates for her new release, The Shark Prince. This book is perfect for fans of Lilo and Stitch and Percy Jackson. It's a Hawaiian-set, mythology-driven story about Nohea, a boy who knows he's destined to become a shark. When he sees a chance to help his family after he's inevitably gone, will it help or put his new friends in danger?
We are also thrilled for our upcoming signing, storytime, and craft making with @nmillerillustration ! Based on a beloved Korean folktale, Nancy So Miller has updated the story and carefully and gorgeously illustrated it through cutpaper art. When Eomma goes to the market she only has one rule for her three daughters - don't open the door because there are creatures in the nearby mountains. They get more nervous as the hours pass, and jump to let Eomma in when they hear a knock at the door. Except, it's not their mother at the door...

We are so excited for our new Summer Reading Program to start! We can't wait to see our young readers in store and talk to them about their favorite books.

3. Come in store to get the sticker for your first match up.
4. Fill out a recommendation slip to help other readers find great books!
5. Repeat for the remaining three match ups on the first round.

May 16th @nmillerillustration will be here with her book Sun, Moon, and Star. This fresh take on a beloved Korean folktale is a lush retelling about three sisters who just outsmart a hungry tiger. It is also beautifully illustrated through cutpaper art scenes that Nancy So Miller constructed for each scene. We will have storytime at 3 followed by a craft led by the author, and then she will be signing copies!
