POV: marrying your best friend.
We had a small and private little ceremony at the beautiful courthouse in Santa Barbara, attended by one friend as our witness. The rest of the day we spent outdoors in the sunshine, having coffee with friends, coincidentally bumping into more friends left and right, cruising the coast down to Malibu, balling out on sushi at Nobu, and finishing the night off with key lime pie in our cosy new home in Oceanside.
The whole day felt intimate, giddy, spontaneous, and so us. We couldn’t be happier and more excited to start doing life together in California after seven years of dating across continents.
Our good pals @rexsteed and @haley_garrison snapped a roll of film at the courthouse, it’s currently at the lab and we can’t wait to see it. As fate would have it, we happened to jump in front of the camera at an elopement workshop in Switzerland this past summer and got some really special photos captured by a whole team of talented photographers. Feeling gratitude for everyone involved.

A DM turned into six years of cross-continental dating, a move to California, a marriage, a baby, and (somehow) a decade of building two separate photography businesses side by side.
Today we’re finally putting it under one name: STUDIO NOLAN.
Same people. Same eye. Same love for honest, artful storytelling - just a brand that actually reflects what we’ve been doing all along: creating together.
The last two years of shooting full time as a duo has been a genuine joy. To our couples, planners, and vendor friends: thank you for trusting us with the kind of days you don’t get back.
And to our people overseas - we’re opening our calendar for international weddings again. We’ll be splitting time between California and Europe moving forward, and we can’t wait to tell stories in the places that shaped us and continue to inspire.

Reminiscing on this slow morning in the Swiss Alps, with clouds spilling over the peaks, wildflowers proudly in bloom, and the stillness of everything just beginning to wake. This place holds a special kind of magic.
We don’t step in front of the camera often, but when we do, it always brings us back to why this matters. The ability to hold on to something fleeting - to revisit it, feel it, and keep it close.
