One of the coolest booth details I saw at Beat the Creek was this Jurassic Park-themed crawler setup in the @jconcepts booth. The gate, the terrain, and the bright green crawler made it feel like it was straight out of the movie. This was one of those details that was impossible to walk past without stopping for a photo. The whole thing was even packaged in a self-contained crate that folded out into what you see. Clever girl! Errr.... boy? I have no idea who made it but it looks cool.

One of the coolest parts about Beat the Creek is all the neat terrain and obstacles that are placed throughout the trails. Not only is the property gorgeous, but the owners have put a lot of effort into setting up interesting and fun trails for both scale and performance-oriented rigs.
I joined in on the fun with my @element_rc crawler. Later in the event I stuck a GoPro on the roof, and I'm pretty happy with how the footage from it turned out. I expected it to be a jittery, bouncy mess but it's actually pretty smooth. I'll be making use of the camera car more in the future!

I was really impressed by the super detailed, extremely high quality 3D printed bodies from @redlinedesigns25 . They work with YouMagine to bring their designs to life, and let me tell you, they look fantastic. Just look at the interior in the USPS-inspired build.

One of the best parts of Beat the Creek was just walking around and looking at the details.
Good builds, clean setups, and a lot of rigs that were worth stopping for even when they were not on the trail. I'm always amazed at how good some people are at weathering their cars. One of these days I'll actually take the time to learn how to do that myself!
Throwback Thursday! Time for another vintage race… not a contemporary race of vintage cars, but the kind where the race itself is old. This is the 2008 Reedy Truck Race at @hotrodhobbiesrc . The full gallery in all of its vintage glory can be found on the Bluegrass RC Facebook page. Side note, I’m glad to see that @a_krieg_ was running the penguin even back then.
One of the cooler stops in vendor row at Beat the Creek was the @rchobbyplus booth. That's partially because it's always nice to chat with @skuirrely , and partially because Hobby Plus makes some really good 1/18 scale crawlers. Their 6 and 8-wheeled offerings are especially neat. A lot of good stuff to look at here if you are into the smaller side of the hobby!
Beat the Creek always delivers the kind of terrain that makes scale RC look its best. You want a wooded trails? You got it. Bridges to cross over? You got those to. An old barn? Sure, why not.
Tight lines, beautiful settings, and rigs that look right at home in the dirt. I came back with a lot from (both in terms of photos and the results of my reckless spending in the vendor village) this weekend. More from Beat the Creek 2026 soon.

I put a GoPro on my @element_rc crawler and sent it through Beat the Creek’s old tobacco barn. The trail was easy, but seeing exactly what your truck was doing (or in some cases, seeing the chicken-wire path at all) was pretty challenging. Overall, a really fun part of the weekend!
