Had the pleasure of capturing DSA candidate @herbert4lex in his element at Raven Run. Check out his campaign and, as always, power to the people!

Join our campaign this Tuesday, May 19th, at 6:00 PM for our kickoff phone bank! 💪☎️💪
We’ll be calling our neighbors to let them know about our campaign for a more livable Lexington, and raise money to keep up the momentum! 💸💰
Whether you’ve phonebanked before or it’s your first time, our team will show you what to do!
And afterwards, we will be having a watch party alongside Bluegrass DSA for the incredibly important May 19th Primary Elections.
So bring some food, bring a friend, and come watch progressives and socialists across the country kick some ass! 🔥🔥
Last Friday, Bluegrass DSA helped organize and tabled at the May Day event held in front the Lexington courthouse. 🌹
Co-Chair Noah Cornett spoke on the history of the holiday, Kentucky’s deep roots in class struggle, and the importance of real solidarity. ✊
A massive thanks to all the members who helped table, all the union organizers who spoke, and the fighters who came before us to build a better world.
We must now continue their struggle.
Solidarity Forever 🎶
On May 1st, 1886, more than 300,000 workers from over 13,000 businesses across the country went on strike to fight for the 8 hour work day. Three days later, in protest of police violence against striking workers, and in support of the 8 hour day, thousands of workers met at Haymarket Square in Chicago to demand justice.
After a bomb was detonated, the police opened fire on the crowd of protestors, murdering seven and injuring 40 more. In the months that followed, eight organizers were unjustly arrested, falsely convicted, and four were executed.
In 1889 the Second International, a meeting of socialist parties and labor organizations from around the world, announced that May 1st would be “International Workers’ Day”, to celebrate the general strike and show support for those martyred in Chicago.
So this Friday, May 1st, we ask for you to join us at the Lexington Courthouse Plaza (120 N Limestone) from 4:30-6:30 PM.
Meet your local unions, build organizational power, and stand in solidarity with your fellow workers.🌹
Our chapter was able to help provide nearly $800 in food, drinks, and material to an amazing organization! 🌹
Community Porch, run by the incredible Veroqua, helps provide food and drinks to those in need in our community. Making sure that our neighbors have what they need is key to building a better future and a strong community. 💪💪

the Trans Clothing Swap and giveaway was a resounding success!! 🏳️⚧️😎🪩
Big thank you to Luigart Studios for hosting us this Tuesday, and thank you to everyone who volunteered, helped with set up, sorted and/or washed the donations ahead of time, this event couldn't have happened without you!! 🤝🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Keep your eyes peeled for details about the next Trans Clothing Giveaway! 👀🌹

🏳️⚧️An event so nice, we're doing it twice! 🏳️⚧️
Join us for our SECOND Trans Clothing Swap!
🗓️ Tue, April 7th,
🕡 6:30-10pm,
📍110 Luigart Court, Unit 250 Lexington, KY 40508 (it's above LEX Center for Creative Reuse)
And because we had so many clothes donated last time, this swap is more of a "giveaway" than a "swap"! Our chapter members have worked hard to sort through all the donations, organizing them, and washing everything to make sure every item is ready to be found by you on Tuesday!! So, you don't have to bring clothes to exchange if you can't or don't want to!!
This is an 18+ event, and allies are welcome, so come hang out for good vibes, queer vibes, and socialist vibes (as always)! 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🌹

This weekend was a blast!😁 On Saturday I helped table at No Kings with @bluegrassdsa and had so many great conversations with Lexingtonians about the state of our country, commonwealth, and city and what they’d like to see change in Lexington. On Sunday we had our weekly canvass and knocked hundreds of doors in district one thanks to the help of our awesome volunteers!
Our next canvass will be on Saturday due to Easter Sunday, and will be meeting once again in Duncan Park at noon. Come help us complete our canvassing turf in district one!
