Hydration 😈 Now that’s it’s spring/summer time is critical for you to be hydrated! If you’re thirsty it’s too late! 🥵 The human body is approximately 60% water, with muscles being 79% water! 💪🏽💦 The average person should consume approximately 8 cups of water, this can vary depending on activity and size. If an athlete is 2% dehydrated their endurance performance and mental performance will decrease noticeably! 🏃🏼‍♀️💨🧠 Hydration is also significant for recovery from workouts and injury prevention/rehab. Hydration helps with… ✅Regulating temperature ✅Transporting Nutrients ✅Cushioning joints ✅Aiding in digestion ✅Stabilizing heart rate ✅Normalizing blood pressure, ✅Diluting toxins ✅Proper Body PH Through these mechanisms, water helps reduce fatigue and improve muscle function. The best way to hydrate is by regularly drinking small to moderate amounts of water throughout the day. 💧⏱ When consuming water after workouts, it is imperative to also include electrolytes to get the best recovery. This involves having liquids that have sodium, potassium, chloride and bicarbonate such as Pedialyte, Gatorade or having a home recipe of water with salt and maple syrup.
