no doubts this is the best looking pedal ive ever made. its focal point is obviously @danielszwed_ art design, which shines with kinda 3d look of dual shade background print. indeed it comes with grim and classy powder finish, with gentle glare turning from black to ink purple and deep navy. even its physical weight is class of its own. i have last unit available on shelf, but as you see, plenty to go.

long post warning but ill tell you what makes TQ an unique ’sunn model T in a box’ type pedal. jfet transistors that we love in preamp pedals have wide spread of parameters, what makes them problematic to bias in larger production runs. so years ago i secured 3500pcs lot of new old stock j201 jfet transistors (todays value over 8k EUR at mouser, lol?) for this project. i designed TQ circuit to rely not on biasing random transistors by trimpots for ’more or less fine’ result, but on using devices with desired parameters that i am able to preselect. soooo each of 8 jfets i put in this pedal is not only picked for 'right’ parameters, but then also selected by oscilloscope testing and pairing for desired waveform and harmonic content. this makes for A LOT of work for a guitar pedal. you will see a couple of trimpots inside, but thats for very precise ohms-range trimming. does it make this effort sound any ’better’? not certainly, as tone is subjective. but it definitely makes it sound exactly how i want it to and i guess it adds to human work quality. eventually using separate volume and master knobs for pre and post ’power amp emulation stage’ provides serious diversity that you will appreciate as soon as you try it. also, boost side on its own is worth half of TQs value. so, happy sunnday people.
