Fly, you fools! Susan the Grey here, wishing a Happy Birthday to J.R.R. Tolkien!! So much of what has shaped me as a person is the fact that I read his books when I was young. His work is my forever inspiration, continuing on to be something much bigger than his already great epic. Some people have religion, I have all the appendices š. Thank you, Tolkien, for existing on this timeline so that I could find your legacy.
Though, I might need to get new Middle Earth themed pics taken, because I sure donāt look like that person anymore!

So while overall 2025 had dumpster fire energy, I had some of the most amazing moments with the most amazing people. I continue to be filled with gratitude that Iām surrounded by love in my life. I think my biggest personal achievement was the growth I made with my mental health. Itās been a journey, since my bipolar diagnosis, but Iām making strides and focusing on progress, not perfection.
The obvious highlight for me was our Japan trip, where I saw several castles - both real and fictional. Plus I climbed a mountain and made an offering for my brother. I hope to do more traveling in 2026, maybe to see BTS live for the first time š¤š„¹.
Have the happiest new year! May we all find our own kind of magic next year. Oh, and of course I included some Ollie shots!

13 years. I canāt believe it. Life doesnāt even seem like has gone by that fast, and yet here I am. This is the year Iām supposed to know the answer to life, the universe and everything, but hereās what I actually figured out - Getting sober is one of the best decisions Iāve ever made in my life and I wouldnāt have it any other way.
As always, I could never do this alone. It takes a village and I have the most amazing support team. My family, my friends, my partner, and my cat (yes, even he has helped more than his little brain can process).
So thank you for the lovely bouquet! Seems only fitting to quote my girl, Taylor Swift today, because this whole year of sobriety is her favorite number. So be Worthy, be Mighty, and keep it šÆ!

He would have been 36 today. This is a pic from the one time we went to SDCC together. He decided to join me last minute, so we bought him a ticket at the door (yes, that used to be possible). I went with him to meet the voices of his favorite Dragon Ball characters and then I made him look at the display for The Golden Compass movie (Iām very grateful that they fixed that horrible movie with the His Dark Materials series). Every few years I recirculate this picture of my mom and baby me. I think it perfectly shows her approach to motherhood - gentle strength and pure happiness. She waited so long to become a mother and continues to step up to the role, even when it gets hard, and sometimes tragic.
I could not have asked to be raised by a stronger, more loving woman. She has taught me so much and continues to be an inspiration for the woman I become everyday. I love you, Mom. Happy Motherās Day!
