We love these small but mighty pairings of @blond3storm 's plein air works in our current exhibition, Suspect Terrain! Blomstrom’s plein air practice revolves around the virtue of sustained attention to the minutiae of one’s immediate surroundings, and reads as antidote to a hyperproductive attention economy. Depicting commonplace scenery, such as the cast shadow of one house onto the vinyl siding of another, or the infamous Home Depot 12-Foot-Skeletons that proliferate on suburban lawns every October, Blomstrom balances tongue-in-cheek levity with a sincere diagnosis of the mass produced American landscape.

Caitlin Blomstrom is a painter and art studio manager. Blomstrom uses art as a way to interpret the world around her. In her plein-air paintings, she combines humor and the uncanny in painterly scenes of the everyday. Her talents have expanded into running her own small business as an art studio manager to help other creatives bring their ideas into reality. Her most recent work is on view in a three-person exhibition, Suspect Terrain, at Tinney Contemporary in Nashville TN. The exhibition also features Nashville-based painters Morgan Ogilvie and Ripley Whiteside and will be on view until May 30. Caitlin’s passion for collaboration, unique insight and innovation comes through in all she does! Learn more on her website /
