Hope you had the best Thanksgiving! Feeling extra grateful this year - for this journey that began with the prints I practically grew up with in Jaipur.. My mum has always been so fascinated by them, so the most unique prints lived everywhere in our home… on her scarves, our bedsheets, old trunks. I have so many milestones (highs and lows!) to share, but I’ll save those for another time. A big thank you for every message, every order, and every bit of curiosity you show for this craft. And the deepest gratitude to our artisans, who keep this tradition alive with so much heart, day after day! 🙏
Growing up, I was ALWAYS glued to my mum. Decades later - not much has changed. I moved base to California some time back & she’s back home in Jaipur. And while long distance really sucks.. I’m still glued to my phone with her every chance I get - except now majority of our conversations have shifted to discussing prints 🤷🏻♀️
She’s a huge reason this brand exists. Some of my fondest memories growing up were spending hours with her in saree and home decor stores, looking through fabrics, prints, and colours / observing her instantly recognise the good stuff. Long before I realised it, she had already passed on to me her deep appreciation for good craft..
She’s very awkward about it, but she’s also my partner and “cofounder” for our India business. And getting to build something with her has easily been my favourite part of this journey.
Happy Mother’s Day to my biggest inspiration, textile queen, and forever favourite person ❤️
And a lot of love to all the amazing mothers out there!
Hand stamped cards (full of so much character): Cards are such a joyful thing 🗂️ 🪅 Love the idea of one that doesn’t just get sent & put in storage, but can also sit in your space as artwork and be lived with.
🌱🧶 As with all our paper, these are made using 100% recycled cotton paper. Hence the fibrous rich texture & the deckled edges. & with Mother’s Day right around the corner, just felt like the perfect time to put these out.
Decided to go offline this weekend at the amazing @thelilflea and have been in awe of the response our products have received in person. Wasn’t ready for this! The photos /videos don’t even capture half of everyone who showed up to our booth and spent time with us. Sold out on so many SKUs - probably the best kind of validation. Such a good weekend with so much learning & a lot to take forward 🤍
In a world of beige, whites and clean aesthetics, we will always choose colour and prints
Spring is springing 🌱🌸 Some of these are already running low on stock, and we’re feeling very grateful. Q1 this year has been a pretty full one with lots happening behind the scenes! Excited for the year ahead.
In the spirit of spring 🌸 sharing some Indian blooms from my camera roll. You’ll see:
Blooms in the backyards of old styled Indian homes.
Beauty of Indian flower/plant markets.
Hibiscus against tree trunk at Central Park, Jaipur
Bougainvillea in the middle of a forest.
My mum’s rooftop garden.
Flowers at Indian weddings.
Just Abundance. 🌱🌺
We’re introducing more of our signature prints and colour into our gifting wraps 💛 Handmade paper (made of 100% recycled cotton) is not the easiest to work with, but it has a warmth and soft fibre texture that glossy paper just never gets right.
These are getting so much love. A colour we love: amaltas sunshine: so versatile and subtle for instantly lifting up table setups. These are quilted and finished with soft scalloped edges, each table mat is a labour of a lot of effort. These are also reversible so you get two prints in one so we pair them with napkins in two complementary prints for our kind of vibrancy 🍋🧈
Favourites are back in stock. After a long pause and much thought, we returned to our four quintessential colours: timeless and true to who we are.
Hand-printed, foldable, and endlessly versatile: for everyday use, errands, picnics, and easy cabin carries.
Snaps from the last few days I spent back home in Jaipur - spending time with my parents and getting everything ready for our new collection. Also made sure to slot in time for a few very quintessential Jaipur things - visiting some old palaces and forts, walking through the walled city johari bazaar.
Tried capturing some of it here. What you’ll see is classic, old school Jaipur: dusty pink sandstone facades, the blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, motifs, perfect symmetry, arches. All done by hand at the time with much attention to detail everywhere. Parts of the city have modernised a lot now but most of the city’s craft (including block printing) drew a lot from this.
Always so great to spend some time back at the roots. I almost always leave with more inspiration and clarity 🩶
