Sam Block is a queer, Jewish, TV writer from New Jersey. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she began her career working in production in New York on shows like POWER, DICKINSON, and FBI: MOST WANTED before joining the writers' room at NCIS: LOS ANGELES. There, she had the opportunity to write and produce her first episode of TV. Her writing spans the genres of fantasy, procedural, drama, and sports. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her baking, playing softball or doing backflips.
A lil’ photo dump from the set of the first episode of TV I’ve written. 🥹 Feeling like the luckiest Sam on earth to have made my way to this show and worked with this amazing crew. I even got to bring on some familiar faces of my own! (And throw in a few Easter eggs…) But mostly, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to tell a 🌈 story like this and for all of the support we had along the way. Couldn’t be more proud and thankful. ❤️
Just a few snippets of the best day of our lives! It was the GAYest, most beautiful wedding. Thank you to all of our family and friends who came and celebrated with us!
Love,
The Blocks ♥️💚
Happy birthday, TJ! So grateful to celebrate you; my favorite chef, dancing partner, world explorer, and the love of my life! Wishing you another year full of good food, goat pets, and adventures. ❤️💚
My 2025 movement wrap up! Grateful for a whole year of being able to consistently move my body. I learned new tricks, fought through mental blocks, pushed my body to do things it had never done before, landed my first flip on floor (!) and most importantly enjoyed trying things that did not come easy to me. Looking forward to building on this foundation in 2026! #flips #progress #tricking
Four years ago today I walked into JAM for the first time after becoming obsessed with the idea of learning tricking. After years of working long hours in production without time to take care of myself, I could hardly remember what it felt like to be an athlete. The idea of being able to learn even the basic tricking kicks felt so impossible, let alone flips. I was terrified, but knew that I wanted it and was going to go get it, no matter how long it took.
Four years later here I am, 30 years old and still at it despite injuries and setbacks, landing my first flip on the floor!
I’m so grateful to everyone who has offered coaching, advice, support, who recorded while I landed on my ass repeatedly, and listened to me talk about flips for endless hours. (I love you, @teejayhallett ).
More to come!!

Two years married, seven years of us. You are the best decision I’ve ever made, and I will keep choosing you every single day for the rest of our lives. I love you and the way you make me better. ❤️💚🧀🥖✈️🌎🍦🥟🐾🌙☀️
