Work has commenced at our latest Sorrento project. In a quiet street across from the beach, this single storey home will balance delicately between creating a unique street presence, while maintaining a low profile built form.
The curved concrete parapet will stretch across the facade and wrap to the rear courtyard, presenting a strong, permanent element. As the plumbing and blockwork subfloor walls progress, the large central pool/spa has been poured, and will be the feature element of the rear entertaining area.

A beautiful day for a site visit to Aireys Inlet with @gjc.building
An excited client, able to stand in the master bedroom and look out at the stunning coastal views.
With the floor levels and walls framed up, it was a good opportunity to review how views are framed, orientation of rooms and joinery, and explore potential opportunities to maximise views towards the ocean.

Planning Permit Approved!
Our latest house on the Mornington Peninsula has been granted a Planning Permit. Located in the beautiful coastal suburb of Blairgowrie, this single level family home feature a large open plan living area opening onto a deck and pool.
The uncomplicated exterior of the home will feature natural materials with muted tones, which will blend into the coastal bush surrounds of the neighbourhood. North facing courtyards will bring natural light deep into the plan, and provide garden views throughout the home.

As with many of the homes we design, the kitchen is at its heart, and the 5m island bench in our new project provides for ample room to work, entertain and enjoy on a day to day basis. The feature marble creates a statement while the muted timber, tiles and limewash paint provide a calm complimentary background.

We are excited to see construction commence on our latest Sorrento project. Located on a large sloped block, the house will maintain a low profile to the street, accentuating the strong curved form of the concrete roof. A large front garden will act as a buffer between the street and the house, while also providing a tranquil and natural path to the entrance of the home.
The courtyard house has been designed to provide a protected, central outdoor entertaining area and pool, while also providing the owners with the flexibility of closing down one or both secondary wings of the house.

The home spa used to be a symbol of indulgence. Now, it's becoming something else entirely.
We're seeing a genuine shift in the way our clients think about their homes. Wellness is a bigger and bigger priority in everyday life, with dedicated spaces for recovery, stillness, and restoration moving from the spa resort to the private residence.
This project in Hawthorn is a perfect expression of that shift. A standalone wellness building — sauna, steam room, spa, plunge pool, and a lounge to unwind in (footy optional) — set within a beautifully established garden. Large windows draw the outside in, and a northern aspect delivers soft, filtered light all year round.
Rather than adding to the main house, the brief called for something apart from it. A place to truly step away — without stepping out.
Contracts signed. We can't wait to bring this one to life.

This laundry and mudroom at our Sandringham project was designed around the rhythm of a busy household — a private secondary entrance for the kids, a place to shed the school day before stepping into the rest of the home.
A skylight and glazed door draw northern sun into the space year-round.
Every detail earns its place: stacked washer and dryer, an integrated drying cupboard with a Yali Vegetable Oil Heating Panel, and dedicated bag and shoe bays for each child. Recessed coir matting at the threshold catches the day's dirt — practical, unfussy, and easily lifted for cleaning.
Deep green tones and Terrazzo tiles echo the material language of the wider home — nothing arbitrary, everything connected.

Sometimes the small projects are the most fun!
Contracts are signed for this wellness space in the leafy suburb of Hawthorn, which will provide the clients with a new spa, plunge pool, steam room and sauna (and somewhere to watch the footy). Located in an under utilized corner of the property, the building will be finished in black stained timber cladding externally, with expansive views over the existing garden and pool.

Brickwork continues at our Brighton project with the arches being formed and curved interior walls being laid. The character of the house starting to show, and will be further emphasised after a series of render and limewash paint samples, allowed us to select the final exterior finish over the brickwork.
On site samples for big ticket items like external finishes are always an important task. Often what is viewed in the office or on screen is a shade too dark/light once under the natural light of the project itself.

The living room and bar joinery features Oceania Marble from @rmstraders and Lignapal Cinder Gum 151.07 from @gfethers . The living room, with its stunning ocean views, is elevated by a large expanse of stone and shelving providing a sense of luxury, while also providing ample space to personalise the home. The nearby bar unit uses the same materials to tie the first floor together aesthetically.

The final hours are always a mix of tidy ups, double checks and making sure every last detail is exactly where it should be.
This was a big one. Working closely with @blockarchitecturestudio and @bkcabinets - there were plenty of moving parts and a serious joinery package to bring together, especially tying everything into the double brick and getting all the panels and fillers spot on.
The best part? Knowing the clients are only a few hours away and we get to hand over the keys to their new home. That moment never gets old.
