The high STI rate in Cape Town reflects who can access care, who feels safe seeking it, and who gets left behind. 🌸🏳️‍🌈🌱 If you’re looking for youth-friendly, judgment free sexual health support and programs in CPT, check out these organizations doing important work: @desmondtutuhealthfoundation @triangleproject_za @sweatdecrim @amandladevelopment @siyakwaziyouthnetwork

Sometimes the mind, body, and soul call for a reset. Music to Soothe and Reset by @tiffany_lekuku is just that— a moment to Rest, restore and get back into the balance. Some of you might be wondering, “What exactly is a soundbath?” A sound bath, also known as a sound journey, is a gentle listening experience designed to calm the nervous system and invite deep relaxation. It can be used to treat anxiety, clear emotions such as fear, negativity, and judgment, and simply recenter. Shoutout to our friends at @blkhlth for hosting their annual Link Up in Johannesburg. Recording this experience was a no brainer. Allow Tiffany’s sound bath to be an escape. a reset. a release. 🔗 in bio

Black youth ages 13-24 account for half of all new HIV diagnoses in that age group. This is why it’s imperative that leaders and decision makers listen to what they need regarding their health, education, and access. The message is clear: young people want real conversations and prevention resources like PrEP. Thank you to the participants who lended their voices to our Speak Our Future #NYHAAD video series. @prepinblackamerica @gileadsciences 🎥 Video shot and edited by @chattam #blackhealthmatters #prep #hivprevention

Stigma is one of the biggest barriers to HIV prevention and care. But the reality is HIV is highly treatable. There are also effective ways to prevent it, including PrEP, with options that fit different lifestyles; from daily pills to long-acting injectables given every 6 months. This National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day, we’re calling out stigma and making space for something different. 🫱🏾‍🫲🏿 @prepinblackamerica @gileadsciences 🎥 Video shot and edited by @chattam #NYHAAD #PrEP #blkhlthconvos #blackhealth #hivawareness

Today, on National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day #NYHAAD, we’re centering youth voices and the need for honest, accessible education. Black youth continue to be disproportionately impacted by HIV, making this conversation all the more urgent. Young people deserve clear information, real options, and the ability to make informed decisions about their health. Thank you to these dedicated young individuals who shared their stories with us, and our partners @prepinblackamerica and @gileadsciences . 🎥 Filmed and edited by @chattam #PrEP #blkhlthconvos #blackhealthmatters #blackhealth

This National Public Health Week, we want to remind you that public health is personal. Armani’s journey began with loss and grew into purpose. Through the BLKHLTH CARES fellowship, Armani found community, built leadership skills, and gained the confidence to take action. 🚀 #NPHW #nationalpublichealthweek #blkhlthcares #blackhealthmatters #healthequity

“20 Voices. 1 Shared Story.” A portrait of the people helping Atlanta thrive.   Meet Dr. Khadijah Ameen — public health leader, cofounder of @blkhlth , and a champion for advancing health equity and expanding access to wellness resources across Atlanta’s communities. Khadijah is one of the voices featured in the Thriving Together Atlanta portrait series. The exhibition, photographed by @iyahdae_art and curated by @nextatlanta ’s @pfaith_carmichael , is on view at @one.contemporary Gallery through March 31st. On March 28th, the portraits move into public space at BLVDNEXT as part of the Thriving Together Atlanta public art installation and Mobile Art Experience, hosted by @wellstarhealth and The Integral Group. Join us from 1–4 pm for an immersive community art experience — including the portrait unveiling and an interactive health activity led by @blkhlth , where attendees can learn, engage, and take actionable steps toward better health. A day of art, connection, and collective wellbeing, free and open to all. RSVP at the link in our bio. Grateful to our partners, @nbaf , @atlantaoca , @martatransit , @marta_artbound , @outofhandatl , and to @bloombergdotorg . #ThrivingTogetherATL #ArtInPublicSpaces #AtlantaEvents #CuratedByNEXT #20Voices1Story
