BlkArthouse District of Columbia, United States - Nacotchtank (Anacostan) and Piscataway Land BlkArthouse is a platform that empowers and promotes Black artists while breaking down the barriers of the traditional exclusive gallery system, giving a voice to underrepresented artists and their stories as Black artists, and providing education and access to Black art to art patrons and collectors of Black art. The initiative was originally founded in 2020 by Tatiana Rice, who later joined forces with Ms.Jolí exceeding her expectations and building a community of over 250 Black artists across the diaspora. Ms.Jolí has continued to promote Blk artists and creatives, teaming up with Black galleries to highlight and promote the Black artists’ artistic journey. “Blk Art is revolutionary! The upcoming exhibition theme: The Black Child: Our New Superhero This month, we Black women will lift our Black children into the skies to showcase their superpowers! We will rebuild, reimagine, reintroduce the world to our superheroes, our youth and their contribution to their communities, their schools, to this nation. This is a dedication to Black childhood, to Black children, to our new little superheroes. ​ The exhibition will showcase the featured artwork of 10 Black women artists and seek to draw on the relationship between Black mothers and their relationships with their children. Black women artists will showcase Black Power and Black liberation through the eyes of our children.
