Here's a sneak peak of some graphics we created for The Mullet (@themulletsb ) - coming this Summer to the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara.
The fine folks of @lamadogtaproom know how to curate a good time... and The Mullet will be located directly behind Lama Dog (the Party in the Back, so to speak).
While it's being built out, go grab a pint at Lama Dog and daydream about The Mullet.
We get it. A "Rebrand" or "Brand Refresh" - whatever you want to call it - can sound like a LOT to take on. But every brand needs to evolve to stay relevant and grow. These aren't just any mountains, they're scenes from the Cascades and the Enchantments near @iciclebrewing . Native wildflowers, Iconic peaks, and some guest appearances from animals you might see out there.
Every brand doesn't need illustration, but when you make beer near the gateway to the Enchantments... It makes a lot of sense to highlight that sense of place.
We're loving the strong shelf presence, and a bold color system that looks even better on the physical cans.

@iciclebrewing just celebrated their 15th anniversary, so here's a look back on their well-loved original packaging (before) which had been adapted from original watercolors by local painters...
and our evolution: illustrating scenes from the Cascades in 6 color direct print, keeping the storytelling and color system intact, opening up the scene to highlight the art, and freshening up the wordmark to carry them through their next 15 years!
Oh did we mention that Oce is speaking at CBC on Wednesday? Her topic: Auditing your brand to find out if it's time for a refresh, and how to make updates for the future while staying true to your current fans.

We're getting ready for CBC in Philadelphia next week (Oce is giving a talk on brewery brand audits, of course!) and thought it would be a great time to share the work with @iciclebrewing that has been rolling out over the past few months.
Icicle is located in the picturesque town of Leavenworth, WA - steps away from Icicle Creek and some of the most beautiful backcountry hiking and alpine lakes in the U.S., the Enchantments.
Capturing that sense of place has always been central to their brand, so when they asked us to help update and expand their logo system we were soon over in Leavenworth drinking beers at the taproom.
With Wedge Mountain looking over the town, it's a key icon in the branding, paired with custom type and secondary badges. More assets, more print flexibility, and more celebration of a truly special area of Washington State.
We'll be sharing the packaging system soon! Maybe go for a hike this weekend and pick up some Icicle beers?

Fishing lures were not on our bingo card this past year but we've been stoked to collaborate with the team at Berkley on several illustration projects now.
Their innovation lab pushes the limits of fishing science and product development with each new bait. But the unique Triple Minnow Rig needed a bit of on-pack explanation: How to rig it and how to fish it with front facing sonar to hook big Bass.
Our team broke down the assembly process, sketched, and refined the illustration panel by panel, giving Berkley a valuable "how-to" asset that lives on the packaging and sales materials.
Something a little new and different for both teams. That's what it's all about!

About a year and a half ago we were working behind the scenes with John I. Haas, a world leader in hops growing and processing, to modernize and expand their logo toolkit and visual identity.
The Blindtiger team iterated on new taglines and messaging marks, including "Growing the Future Of Brewing" - to reflect their longtime focus on innovation in growing hops, hop products development, and brewing technology.
We polished their well-known heritage hop mark, cleaning it up for better useability and clarity, and provided alternate forms to use across print and digital.
Colors, brand fonts, a beer label template, and Photography and Digital style guides completed the kit, so they could put it into action.
Cleaner, bolder, and more consistent.

We thought it would be fitting to share @sandyneckcider.co branding, illustration, and packaging design that Blindtiger created for them - their doors have been open for almost 1 year and they have been crushing it with bright, expressive, and supremely drinkable hard cider, crafted on The Cape.

CiderCon is in just a few days - we'll be there talking branding and connecting with cider makers from all over the states. While we patiently wait for next week, we wanted to share this gem of a cidery from our own backyard that we branded last year.
@orcasislecider is based from, you guessed it, Orcas Island, in the San Juan Islands off the Washington state coast. They specialize in small batch wild fermentations, using heritage varieties of apples and fruit harvested from the established trees on the islands until their own orchard bears fruit.
Exceptional barrel aged cider needs a brand to match - so we paired custom type with illustrations and lock ups that nod to the hand crafted nature of the ciders and the island life.
A simple but elegant label system allows for photos from the islands to be incorporated, keeping the packaging down to earth and practical for their team to iterate on.
