AS ANEJ AS KNEJ is a saying all of us grew up with in the diaspora. Said by our parents, uncles and aunts describing the endless feeling of never fully arriving where you are AND where you come from. Translated, it means: “Neither there nor here.”
But what grows in between? Between countries, languages, summers, departures, memories. Between the versions of ourselves shaped by migration, distance, war, family, and return?
AS ANEJ AS KNEJ is an art and culture festival in Prishtina bringing together artists from the diaspora and local artists from Kosovo and Albania through film, music, literature, art, and dialogue exploring identity, belonging and memory.
