![A Cut Above presents ‘Pure Science’ coming live and direct from London to Sydney for this Christmas special at Carousel. Phivos Iatropoullos aka Pure Science, often dubbed as The Prince Of Tech House and one of the most important characters of the tech house era, brings his Live show over to Sydney on the 28th Dec. A frequenter of some the early Acid House parties in and around London, Phivos has now worked professionally in the dance music industry since late 80s / early 90’s with his roles ranging from producer, sound engineer to performer and artist. Pure Science has had a deep affiliation with Electronic Music since the early 80’s which has continued to the present day. During the 90’s Phivos acquired a reputation in the London Underground party scene for “being able to wrap entire dancefloors around his little finger” (Muzik Mag) with his live sets. During this 90’s era he was working for promoters such as the Free Party Network and Chiba City Sounds, Bosh, Whoop Whoop, Wiggle, Kerfuffle and The End. Pure Science has performed regularly as a guest at legendary clubs and parties around the globe for decades including Wiggle, Rage, Pure, Telepathy, The End, Twilo, Zouk, Dungeons, Fuse, UFO club Berlin, The Bomb, Omen Club Frankfurt, Roxy Amsterdam, Sonar Vancouver, Sonna (Montreal), The Edge Sao Paolo, Club UK, Ministry Of Sound, Limelight NYC, Maze USA and Glam Slam LA to name but a few. 1998 was the year Pure Science won best new DJ award for his seamless and strong live sets which would be performed with hardware Synths and Samplers. The year later Phivos was asked to play as a resident on the opening night of a new club which we all now know as ‘Fabric’ in London. Returning frequently to play his legendary live sets Pure Science was later asked to produce a live mix album for their album series (Fabric 005). Over the years he has released music on various labels such as Rehab Records, Pacific, Pagan, Lunar Tunes, Eukahouse, Plastic City, Rescue Recordings, Fabric, Black Flag, Hooj Choons, Bosh, Shakin-Vibes, Absurd, ifidota, Cougar Trax, Red Robot and his own P.S.Communications and B+positive labels.TICKETS IN BIO]()
