Join me and the full national Trans USA court from June 4-6 at the World Pride Human Rights Conference in Washington, DC. 👑 On June 6th, our panel discussion ( “More Than a Crown: “Inclusive Pageantry to Empower Trans Leaders, Advocates, and Role Models”) will shine a spotlight on inclusive, purpose-driven pageantry as a vehicle for developing the skills, confidence, and connections necessary to thrive in movement spaces, with a special emphasis on individuals typically excluded from such spaces. Beyond providing insight into how the structure of advocacy-based pageantry can bridge various accessibility gaps, the session will provide a critical analysis of key barriers that remain through the eyes of Trans USA’s first all-Black national court. Following an opening address by Trans USA’s National Director Dylan Drobish, Attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear the authentic, raw stories of three individuals who have—despite the depth and breadth of these barriers—risen to the challenge to spark change from the local to national level and inspire a new generation of grassroots advocates who dream of doing the same.
