Bless Mazarura (
@blessmaz ) does not design to compete. He designs to express.
“Fashion should never be about being better than anybody else,” he says. “It should be about identifying who you are, what you do, and what you want people to know about yourself, but never to give you power over any other human being.”
Born in Zimbabwe and now designing in New York, Bless is not a traditional fashion designer. He does not begin with patterns. He drapes first, lets the fabric speak, and makes the pattern later only when it is time for manufacturing. Many of his runway pieces begin as one-offs, created from small stock fabrics that might otherwise go to waste.
From crafting garments out of durable outdoor paper to transforming boat seat upholstery into runway looks, his process is instinctive, tactile, and deeply intentional.
As the creative force behind
@blessbybless , he approaches fashion as ritual, identity, and freedom. A Parlor collaborator whose work reflects both discipline and imagination.
