Todayâs dilemma from a member of our Blended community is:
âIâm 5 years on now with my new partner. My ex has consistently turned my kids age 13 and 17 against my new partner calling him the rat and having a code with my youngest to alert him when my partner is at my house - âis it rainingâ heâs there is it sunny ? He isnât there. After 5 years we want to do a family holiday with my partner and kids but my ex has given the kids an ultimatum saying he wonât take them away if they go with the rat and saying he feels sad and he canât believe they want to spend time with someone who hasnât been nice to their dad. He doesnât like my ex and they have had an argument in the past and now he wonât let me move on or my kids accept me new partner. The kids have said they donât want to come on the holiday now as they donât want to upset their dad. What do I do?â
