These terrific guys just won Olympic gold in my favorite event. Last time the Dutch won a medal in this event was 21 years ago, after my Sydney Olympic silver medal final.

#TBT Today in 1996 we won our Olympic Gold medal in the men’s eight. It was an amazing season with the best possible medal at the end. Next year will be a special anniversary with Tokyo 2021.
After several years of not riding my road bike (or training for that matter), finally got back on recently and today was able to keep my average speed over 30kmph for almost 90 minutes. Was toast afterwards, but who cares. Felt good!
