I'm starting a STUDIO PLAY WORKSHOP!
I've been recording a lot the past few years and noticed that all of us musicians have similar struggles in the studio.
I thought it'd be nice to share my experience and work with people who want to get better at recording, like I do.
SO! I'm starting a monthly workshop. Here's some basic info about it:
What we'll work on:
- Recording with a click and/or with a live band
- Differences between live performance & recording
Check slide 2 for more.
Who is it for:
- Artists who want to learn how to record their music
- Professional musicians who want more experience in the studio
- Amateur musicians who want to discover the world of the studio
If you're interested, send me a message!
If you know someone who'd be interested, PLEASE spread the word :)
Casco Series at @roodebioscoop
31st of August
20.00
.
Vythos make music with samples, synths, toys, guitars, bass, vocals and the occasional weird noise. Their sound leans into calm repetition, nostalgic textures, playfulness and humorous surprises. Vythos make music you can sink into unhurried, a bit off-center, and open to wherever it wants to go.
.
Anti & Flore - Commonplace
This improvised duet between Flore Muuse(dance/movement) and Antigoni Seferli(cello) unfolds as a living dialogue between movement and sound, space and time. An intimate moment-to-moment exchange, a constant process of relating to each other, the audience and the present moment, while also leaving space for other - imagined or past - realities. Rooted in deep listening and mutual trust, this is a performance that cannot be repeated. It is created live, in communion - with each other, the space, and those who witness it.
.
The renowned duo “We Are The Nice Guys” (Berend Jak & Konstantin Schreiber) will act as hosts for the evening.

This concert is part of 'Casco Series' other voices, other choices, other noises ", initiated by @1contrabas in collaboration with De Roode Bioscoop.
🎶 Sundried Understandings #2: Post-Cultural Indifferences
🗓️ 24 September 2025 — 8PM
📍 Zaal 100 (De Wittenstraat 100)
🎟️ €10 Entry
For the second instalment of Sundried Understandings, we expand into a wider instrumental territory.
This time, we’re going global — but without letting borders define the artists’ craft.
Each act brings a distinct take on their “desired instruments.”
Yes, there will be drums — but also:
🎛️ Synthesizers
🎺 Prepared Cornet
🎤 Amplified Voice
🔊 Samplers + Drum Machines
Kuntari
With sounds rooted in Hadrah Kuntulan and other Indonesian rhythms, Kuntari’s guttural, mating-call-like cornet tones ripple through fierce roto-toms, metallic chimes, and overdriven guitars.
They’ve dubbed their genre “Primal-Core.”
Hailing from Bandung, it’s their second time performing in Amsterdam — and their first at Zaal 100! :)
@abrorski
Bimini
A durational solo drumming performance by local legend Frank Rosaly, in collaboration with improvised light projections inspired by ritual and ceremonial traditions of the Caribbean Tainos (Puerto Rico).
Using paired elements — 2 bass drums, 2 gongs, 2 projectors — Bimini explores the complex duality of indigenous/Spanish heritage, but not as exclusive self-reflection.
It’s a metaphor for us all:
🌒 Duplicitous beings longing for a state of shared conversance.
@frank_rosaly
Vythos
Travelling in from Utrecht, Lida Brouskari & Minas Vakaloudis bring their off-kilter blend of drone-sample-pop for a wonky and warm start to the evening.
Rumour has it... it’s Minas’s birthday 🎂
He’s okay with you:
✔️ Congratulating him
✔️ Buying him a beer
✔️ Buying him 7 beers🍻

We’re playing at Touchstone next week!
Wednesday, 2nd of July, at 21:30
Thanks, Dog is a newborn band based in Utrecht. Fascinated by various elements such as soundscapes, loops, improvisation and storytelling melodies they compose their music while paying tribute to their heroes as well.
Here's a taste of the last song from the new album!
@george_karalanidis shot this video of us rehearsing Zapping' one day before my final exam, thus the chaos of bags, cases, coffee cups, party hats, a TV playing in the background and us facing the wall instead of each other.
