Just before the e pandemic I was invited by @danielcarcillo13 to attend an ayahuasca retreat with @heroicheartsproject in Peru. This trip changed the course of my relationship with my own mental health and my whole outlook on life. Being present with a group of strong men, encouraging each other to be vulnerable and share their truest and deepest selves, awas powerful.
This Friday, on Veterans Day, we will premiere the short film documenting this experience on @heroicheartsproject social channels. Make sure to follow them to stay up to date. I will of course be sharing it as well.
While I have yet to participate in psychedelic therapy, I am strong believer in the healing I have witnessed and documented first hand, especially in communities like that of veterans ad others with high levels of trauma. I hope these medicines continue to help save lives and this film helps break down stigmas surrounding it. The deepest gratitude and respect to the indigenous communities who have shared these traditions with us. I can’t thank my ride or die @pocusfuller enough for coming with me and collaborating on making this, and @hyun_solo___ for making a truly beautiful score that ties it all together. More to come!
We lost a great man this week, a man who taught me a lot about the power of calm. His presence balanced the room and provided comfort to those in it. He was a man of style and was also pretty fucking funny. He will be missed dearly but I am so proud to be his Grandson. I love and miss him dearly but I find comfort knowing that I will continue carry him with me and that we are made of the same fabric. Love you grandpa.

New work debuting tomorrow. Check out Truth Be Told: Rick Ankiel tomorrow on Fox Sports after the post game. One of my favorite projects to date and one hell of a story. Rick is a really amazing human and glad I got to spend time hearing and capturing his story.

I decided to recut an older piece of mine. Always loved what we shot and proud of the original piece, just wanted to give it a new spin. This was also one of my all time favorite shoots with @committeefilms and we got to pull out A LOT of @cinemechanics toys for it too.
