On Monday, @GovKathyHochul announced the designation of our $11 billion project - Clean Path NY – the largest clean energy project in American history! Our company, EnergyRe, in partnership @NYPAEnergy and @Invenergy , will bring 7.5 million megawatt-hours of emissions free energy every year directly to New York City. Through new, clean solar and wind power-generation and state-of-the-art transmission we’ll fundamentally transform the way New York City is powered. Clean Path NY will reduce air pollutants, drastically cut the amount of carbon in the atmosphere, and advance environmental justice. At Related, we have always had the vision that the Western Yards should include a great public open space. We don’t yet have a final design, but have always understood clearly that our open space needs to work well with the High Line and the Hudson River.
Unfortunately there currently appears to be a lot of misinformation in the public domain, which is disheartening.
Our plan has always been to build an open space along the lines of this years-old rendering and we are working to manage the technical challenges to achieve this.
