Mock croc is officially having a moment. From @badgalriri Rihanna in Alaïa to @beyonce Beyoncé in Roberto Cavalli, @kimkardashian Kim Kardashian in Balmain, @idia.aisien in @kiri_luxury and @illonaatelier23 , celebrities are fully embracing the croc-effect trend ahead of 2026. Whether through structured coats, glossy dresses, statement boots or sculpted handbags, mock croc adds instant luxury, texture and power to a look. The styling trick? Keep the rest of the outfit clean and let the texture do the talking. #blanckmagazine #trendsetting #mockcroc #fashion #style

While some people have already moved on from the conversation, the situation in South Africa is still raising concern across Africa. In recent weeks, videos of African migrants being harassed and asked to “go back to your country” spread across social media again. Ghana has reportedly stepped in to evacuate some of its citizens after growing fears over safety, while the Nigerian government has also initiated a voluntary repatriation process for Nigerians who want to return home following rising tensions and reports of attacks. At the same time, South African authorities have denied claims of widespread xenophobic attacks, saying the protests are more about illegal immigration and crime. But for many Africans living there, the fear feels very real. And maybe that’s the saddest part of it all. Africans are being made to feel unwelcome in an African country. This conversation keeps returning every few years, yet nothing ever truly seems to change. When does it finally end? #blanckmagazine #blancknews

Alex, I wrote you a pretty long letter. I hope you get some time from your heavenly duties to read it. I want you to know that I understand why you said you were fine when you weren't - I understand 😔 I hope you found freedom from the unimaginable sadness that embraced your happy soul. The reason so many people have so many personal stories about you is because of who you were. On and off screen you were thesame Alex everywhere. Joyful, endearing, funny, kind and every wonderful thing in between. These tears will flow for the memories we will no longer be able to make but I hope your loved ones find solace in the outpouring of love and affection for you the world over. Rest in peace my dearest friend Alex. It’s not goodbye but see you later. With love, Franka xxx

The brilliant model turned actor and former Blanck cover star, Alexx Ekubo, suddenly disappeared from social media and major public events in 2025, sparking concern across Nollywood and among fans. For months, rumours swirled about the actor’s health following his prolonged absence online, while a resurfaced video intensified speculation that he had taken ill. Reports later claimed he had intentionally stepped away from the spotlight due to what close associates allegedly described as a toxic media environment, although conversations about his wellbeing continued to grow online. Alex battled kidney cancer and eventually died from the illness. Known for his charm, polished screen presence and fashion forward image, Alexx became one of Nollywood’s most recognisable leading men, building a career across film, television and modelling. His sudden withdrawal from public life left many fans unsettled, especially because he had once been one of the industry’s most visible and socially active personalities. Long before the speculation surrounding his disappearance, Alexx Ekubo stood as one of the defining faces of a generation of Nigerian pop culture. The model turned actor was also one of Blanck Magazine’s early cover stars, appearing on the cover of Issue 2 in a striking monochrome editorial themed Freedom. At the time, the feature captured the image of a rising creative navigating fame, identity and self expression. Years later, that same public image would become part of a larger conversation about celebrity culture, public pressure and the realities behind life in the spotlight. For many who followed his journey, the silence surrounding Alexx felt especially jarring because he had once been one of Nollywood’s most media friendly personalities. #blanckmagazine #blancknews

Dua Lipa has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Samsung over the alleged unauthorised use of her image in promotional material tied to the company’s televisions. The case is said to centre around claims that her likeness was used in a way that implied endorsement without permission or compensation. As conversations around celebrity image rights continue to grow, the lawsuit is already drawing attention across both the entertainment and legal industries. #blanckmagazine #blancknews #news

There are red carpet moments, and then there are phoenix moments. Rising in a dramatic side-feathered ensemble that embodied glamour, confidence and rebirth, Uche Montana @uchemontana delivered one of the standout fashion moments at the AMVCAs. But the true icing on the cake came when she was crowned winner of the coveted Trailblazer Award, cementing her status as one of Nollywood’s brightest rising stars. A night of style, symbolism and well-deserved recognition. Thokozile Ngulube @about5percent writes. #blanckmagazine #amvca2026
