First at John's Barking Riverside @greenroofshelters industrial yard, testing soils, substrates and other structural habitats and planting for invertebrates in portable form, as well as genius mini wetland trough for kitchen sink water.
Then at #Hilldrop seeing designs for wildlife and people, beautifully and cleverly developed over 30+ years... and relaxing in the sunshine!
Students always come away from John and Fiona's realising that education can be about much more than just design, it can be about how we care for each other and the rest of nature. Thanks again John and Fiona for a lovely day!
Lovely to see @you_dig_gardens Liz Morley the genius behind #wildingcampuses @nottmcollege and working with @grownotts in the city centre. Great to show Liz the structural habitats coming along at the @unioflondon student-led staff-supported #LivingLab in Bloomsbury, then headed to the brilliant subStratum in @wemakecamden High Street by @edgycollective@thinking_out_lau@hellotherelinda , beautifully cared for by local gardeners.
Liz inspired students in design workshops for the Living Lab last summer along with @grassroofco@hellotherelinda@ecology_threecubes #CaroleWright blak_outside, Polly Moseley, Richard Scott, Emilia Mizielinska and @resourcetwelve who are now helping students and staff deliver the habitats.
