Day 2: Samoa is a very religious country so Sunday’s are reserved for Church, Family & Rest. We attended a church ceremony at the beautiful Immaculate Conception Cathedral led by Blake’s Uncle, before gathering for a traditional family lunch known as “Toanai”. We also visited Blake’s Grandfather old house and Taxi Stand.
Day 3: We visited the Sopoaga Waterfall in the morning. It was raining so the fog covered most of the waterfall but it was still an amazing scene and the gardens at the view point were beautiful. The weather cleared up in the afternoon and we visited two beautiful spots.
Piula Cave Pool - a beautiful crystal clear freshwater spring pool and cave that originated from an old lava tube.
Papase’ea Sliding Rocks - Mother Nature’s waterslides, these are naturally formed rock slides, worn down by thousands of years of running water.
Day 4: We went to the other side of the island to visit the Giant Clam Sanctuary. The beach was beautiful, the water was crystal clear, and snorkeling around the clams was an amazing site. On our way back we visited a local coffee plantation and picked up some coffee beans to take home. To end the night we went to a fiafia night. The fire dancers were spectacular!
Thank you @redsox for the opportunity to play with some very talented players and learn from some of the games most respected coaches. From Boston to Worcester, the org is just filled with good people. I will never forget playing in the iconic Red Sox uniform at a rockin’ Fenway Park singing Sweet Caroline in unison.
