Netflix is a Joke Festival presents Laughs Back, a night of indigenous stand up comedy at The Chapter House. Come watch some of the nation’s best Native American comedians all on one stage.
Comedians Blake Pickens, Jana Schmieding, Brian Bahe, Jim Ruel, Josh Pimentel, and Jackie Keliiaa bring you a special night of laughter.
Doors open at 7pm. Seating is first come first served. This event is 18+.

In 1988, 17-year-old Chief Marchand Rice was arrested in the grisly murder of an elderly couple in Washington State. In 1989, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He avoided the death penalty by a single vote. That was 37 years ago. In 2023, the Washington Supreme Court ruled that sentencing juveniles to life without the chance of parole constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. Chief now has the chance to be resentenced.

Blake grew up in Oklahoma and has built an incredible career in Los Angeles as an Emmy Award-winning producer, writer, and comedian. He’s produced acclaimed projects like The Land and Wild Indian, and has collaborated with major studios including Netflix, Nickelodeon, Amazon, and National Lampoon. His comedy background and storytelling skills shine through in every project, and he shared plenty of laughs along with powerful insights into his journey.
We’re honored to preserve Blake’s story—his Oklahoma roots, his Chickasaw heritage, and his creative path—in the Oklahoma Historical Society archives. Can’t wait to share more soon!
